PLS athlete shines on ice in Oswego
Photography by Robert Clark OSWEGO, NY - Premier Living Suites, SUNY Oswego’s prime destination for off-campus college housing, is recognizing several in-house student athletes for their achievements this winter sports season.
One star athlete, Madison Byrne, is a junior women’s ice hockey player for the Oswego State Lakers.
Despite playing defenseman, Madison has three points through three assists and sixteen blocks including four in a victory at Amherst earlier this year. A clear value to the team, Byrne played in all nine of the team’s wins throughout the 2018-2019 season, which concluded at the end of February.
Byrne, who is originally from Commerce Township, MI, said she chose carefully in the process of selecting her off-campus accommodations. She said some of Premier Living Suites’ most favored amenities are what caught her eye.
“Having the downstairs area with the movie theatre, game room, gym, pool tables and study room are very convenient, especially when we have a team bonding day,” Byrne said. “I can just tell my team to come over and there’s always something to do here.”
Byrne stressed the convenience of residing at a location in such close proximity to the SUNY Oswego campus. She also made certain to mention her appreciation for the friendly staff at Premier Living Suites.
“The owner is very accommodating and great when it comes to having the team over, Byrne added. “PLS is also very close to campus which made commuting to and from a breeze.”
